I’ve mentioned in the past that I have no foot conditions; however, experience occasional foot pain from being on my feet all day at the shop. It only seems natural that one without a specific foot condition may only need/want cushion insoles to absorb the shock of standing at work all day -right? Wrong. While for some the cushion insole maybe the route, an orthotic arch support offers a solid foundation for evenly distributing the shock and weight our feet are exposed to thereby eliminating pressure points of pain. The SOLE Thin Casual Footbeds offer a great solution for those seeking a semi-rigid arch support for dress, casual, and/or any tight fitting shoe. This Sole Thin Casual Footbeds Insoles Review was written after wearing the Sole Thin Casuals for 4-5 weeks in both my casual and tennis shoes. There are three main points that attract me to this shoe insole: custom moldable fit to my foot, soft synthetic nubuck suede topcoat, and light, thin design for tighter shoes.
I started out my adventure the the SOLE Thin Casual Footbeds by heat molding them (see how to heat mold your shoe insoles video) for 2-3 minutes for a custom fit for my feet. This is very easy -yet the insoles are wear-moldable too and will adjust to your foot withing 5-7 days naturally. One of my favorite features is the nubuck suede topcoat. While the Thin Casual offers no cushion (check out the SOLE Softec Casual Footbeds for an additional 1.6mm of cushioned top-coat), I love the soft luxurious feel of the nubuck to my feet and toes whether going barefoot or with socks.
Now if your wondering about the specs of the Sole Thin Casuals, they are APMA Accepted with a semi-rigid arch support, deep heel cup, and offer solid foot foundation support for everyday life and sports (such as golf) too. The Orthotics offer an option to both prevention and treatment of Achilles Tendonitis, Arch Pain, Bunions, Heel Pain, Knee Pain, Over Pronation, Supination, Plantar Fasciitis, Shin Splints, and a whole host of other foot and leg conditions.
Personally, I do not have any foot issues other than day to day pain on occassions. When I first started wearing harder semi-rigid or rigid orthotics, my foot felt the stretch of my tendons and muscles for the first few weeks. It’s hard to describe but for me it was a good pain -almost like that soothing feeling of a good work out with the sore muscles that follow. Today, I love orthotics and prefer them over cushion insoles. I no longer experience specific pressure points which reduces the stress on my feet (and body overall) feel fresher and healthier throughout the day.
As far as an insole for casual, dress, or other tight fitting shoes, the SOLE Thin Casual Insoles are perfect. The soft nubuck top coat is soft, and are only 1.6mm thick (.o6 inches) fitting into tight golf & athletic shoes, loafers, ballet shoes, and casual/dress shoes. In addition, the insoles have a preforated forefoot which aids in lightness, cooling, and breathability. At no time have my feet been hot nor any odor noticed.
