At The Insole Store.com we take a lot of customer calls seeking insoles for plantar fasciitis. Typically we find that our customers have educated themselves via our own foot-care articles or other information out on the internet. One of our most popular insoles for plantar fasciitis, over-pronation, and collapsed foot arches is the PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles.
PowerStep Orthotic Insoles were created by Dr. Les Appeal (a Podiatrist with over 35+ years of experience) in 1991. What he realized was that a good over-the-counter orthotic arch support was not generally available for the public dealing with foot pain and/or an affordable orthotic insole versus the $200-400 custom orthotics provided by Podiatrists. The premise behind the line-up of PowerStep Orthotic Insoles is that they offer a deep heel cup, flat heel plate, and orthotic arch support that assists in offering flexibility to naturally replicate a proper neutral arch function through one’s natural gait (walking/running motion).
The PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles are appropiate for athletic, casual, and dress shoes. If you’ve followed along with any of my shoe insoles reviews, I traditionally wear a tighter leather casual shoe. At no time did I feel that the Pinnacle Insoles took up to much space in either the heel, arch, or toe-box area.
Now I will tell you that the PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles were a bit uncomfortable for me at first (1-2 days) as my foot needed to adjust to the PowerStep placement of their arch support. The last orthotic I was wearing has an arch support close to the heel; whereas, the PowerStep Insoles have a more central arch support in the mid-point of a common foot arch. In all fairness, this was partially due to switching from a different orthotic arch. Now -At first it felt somewhat awkward; however, once I started to walk with the Pinnacle’s, I could feel the arch support flex (PowerStep Philosophy) to allow my arch to collapse into a natural position (but not over collapse).
Now I mention this because a common feedback point is that the orthotics are ‘to-hard’ or ‘uncomfortable’. Alot of orthotic insoles on the market are rather rigid. We often have to educate the customer that it may take awhile for their feet to get used to a proper foot position provided by an orthotic arch support and that the muscles and tendons need to adjust to their new proper positioning too. To see all our Orthotics, click: Orthotic Arch Supports . Sometimes, that just does not happen overnight.
The PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles are a very nice Orthotic. The flex provided in the arch supports eliminates some of that rigid/hard feel; while the double-layer cushioning offers a slightly more cushion support then what most orthotic arch supports offer too. I’d say the forefoot (or metatarsal region) provided an above average cushion.
I tend to be hard on my feet and also stand (balance) on my forefoot versus evenly across the whole foot. There are times, that after wearing an insole for a few weeks I personally find the cushion pad in the forefoot gets matted down in a compressed mode where it loses it’s cushion support. I did not have this happen with the PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles. They have maintained their natural shape throughout. Upon review of the orthotic heel and arch plate, I found no signs of stress fractures -the insoles are made to stand the test of time and I would expect them to easily last 7-12 months for most people. Over-all, the PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles are a very good orthotic arch support that will assist with various foot conditions and alleviate one’s pain over time.
So if your dealing with foot pain issues, consider an orthotic arch support created by a Podiatrist that offers superior support and cushioning. Check out the PowerStep Pinnacle Insoles Today!
