When we think about pretty feet, the image most people get is one with a high arch. A foot with a high arch is pretty because of its shape and natural contours, in comparison to a flat foot without an arch that has no shape at all.
There are two arches in the foot – a longitudinal arch that runs from the big toe to the heel and the medial arch that runs across the ball of the foot on the underside. When you hear the phrase “high arch”, it always refers to the longitudinal arch.
And when you think about orthotics, it seems to be an oxymoron to say that women need orthotics for high arches in their feet. But it’s not. That’s because high quality orthotics will make a big difference in the way women walk.
Interestingly, part of the reason why women’s feet look good in Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo high heels is because the shape of their foot changes. By “dancing” on the ball of the feet – which is what happens with high heels, a woman’s feet are slenderized and their legs look longer.
Wearing high heels is a good opportunity for women to show off their legs, and you’ll see them in high heels with dresses above the knee more often than in pant suits that cover up the feet.
But it’s also an opportunity for you to save your feet by inserting high-quality orthotics for high arches (or high heels) in those expensive shoes. The orthotics could save your feet from hours of pain.
Expensive shoe designers such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo have known the effects of high heels on perception by men of a woman for over a hundred years. That’s why over the years, they’ve designed shoes to be higher and higher in the heel area, whether they’re platform shoes or stilettos or even slingbacks. Of course, if these designer shoes were good enough for Hollywood stars and Princess Diana to wear, why wouldn’t they be good enough for you – even if you don’t have a high arch now? Check out all the high heels inserts at The Insole Store today!
If you’re a shoe fashionable type of woman, you already know that even boots have gone higher and higher in the last decade. In a way, this seems quite crazy – how can a woman teeter around in her boots with high heels (Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo or other brands) when she’s walking on ice or in snow?
Ask the designers and you’ll discover the same reason they all keep churning out prettier and prettier designer shoes – to slenderize the foot and legs and make the arch look like a high arch.
The reality of having a high arch is that although it is prettier than a foot with a low arch, it still has to be supported with an arch support, especially in the case of putting on those Ferragamo shoes! The beauty of high quality orthotics for high arches now is that you can wear the Ferragamo shoes for longer periods of time without pain.
You’ll have to try it and see for yourself.
