I really wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I first tried out the Spenco Total Support Insoles. The first thing I noticed was that they are 1/2 the thickness of a traditional cushion or gel insole and at least 1/3 smaller than a traditional orthotic arch support. The thickness of the insole at the forefoot is 1/8 inch thick and 3/8 inch thick at the heel. For those seeking a more minimalist insole for tighter fitting shoes, one needs to strongly consider the Total Support Insoles.

I have a neutral arched foot and I definitely did not feel the orthotic arch rigidity that I notice on a true orthotic arch. At the end of the day my heels and arch do not ache. The Total Supports are a bit deceptive as they visually look like the support and cushion isn’t there with their minimalist size; however, the shock absorption in the heel is superior to most cushion insoles (while not taking up the space) and the arch support is solid without being overbearing. With the Total Supports heel to cradle support, medical conditions such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and achillies tendonitis can be reduced.
